ASP Components

So what are ASP Components? Microsoft have conveniently created IIS using a component based architecture. All the standard objects you create and use in your ASP code have been created by Microsoft to plug in to the basic IIS application. In exactly the same way, people like us can conveniently create more ASP Components to plug seamlessly into IIS.

There are a number of types of common ASP Component including File Upload, Event Logging and Graphics Libraries. WebSupergoo software covers all of these areas and more. Just to give you an idea...

File Upload

It is unfortunate that although Microsoft browsers have supported standard HTML file upload from the moment that Microsoft got interested in the web, the standard components they supply for web serving do not. As a result a number of third party components now exist to fill this gap.

Graphics Libraries

There are a few graphics libraries around. Ours is not the cheapest but it is unquestionably the most sophisticated and professional around (just take a look at our feature list). We know it's the best - our customers tell us so.

Our Strategy

Our components come with pedigree. We use a combination of OpenGL and QuickTime for most of our drawing and with very good reason. QuickTime is a tried and tested graphics (as well as movie) library with literally thousands (yes really) of man-years of effort invested in it - check out the specifications. OpenGL is of the same breed and allows hardware acceleration and high quality drawing. This is the kind of pedigree you don't get with just any set of ASP Components.
