IT Telecommuting Support Jobs [Contract]

We work on the cutting edge of development creating world class products.

The products we make are software components. So we're creating the code which other developers find too difficult to create themselves. We create the building blocks for their applications. In particular we specialize in graphics components.

So the projects we work on are technically demanding. They are not easy by any stretch of the imagination. However it's an exciting place to be. There's no way you'll ever get bored.

We need someone to help people use our products. Could you be our Technical Guru?

The people who come to us are programmers themselves. So you need to be at least as good as the best who come to you. You'll need top level Windows skills in C#, VB and .NET. You'll need to be an experienced ASP and ASP.NET programmer. HTML and HTTP should be second nature to you.

However tech support and troubleshooting on this kind of level is more than just being good at programming. You'll need practical real world experience in deployment, support and troubleshooting in difficult situations such as multi-threaded, reduced permission environments. You'll need to be able to look at mysterious errors and work out a route to working out what's going wrong.

Our primary language of communication is English. As such it's important that you have excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English. We deal with clients from around the world so an appreciation of European and American cultural and linguistic differences would be useful. Many of our clients are US based so you'll need to be in the US Timezone.

But it's more than just being good at English. The people who come to us have vastly different levels of ability and attitude. Often they just want simple advice or code samples. However things don't always go right and some of the people we deal with are under severe stress. If you can help them through to a solution you'll be a hero.

Ideally we're looking for experience in raster or vector graphics. If you know about PDF, PostScript, EPS, XPS, SVG, Flash, TIFF, JPEG, ICC etc - we want to know you. C/C++ experience would be a distinct advantage. Alternatively if you look at our products and feel that you've got something else to offer - please feel welcome to persuade us.

The position is based around telecommuting. So you'll need a PC with a fast internet connection, a copy of Visual Studio and a Skype connection. You'll need to be self motivated and responsible. If you're good there'll be plenty of opportunity both to make your mark and to share in the success.

We're an informal company - not into suits and tradition. We measure by results not by appearance. Feel welcome to get in touch and tell us a little bit about the work you've done in the past. Tell us why you think you'd be good in this position.

Please send us your full resume including salary expectations. In your covering email please say a little bit about who you are and why you feel that you'd be good in this job.
